A combined team led by the Deputy Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Dr. Dramani Bukari, has undertaken a technical tour of key petroleum facilities in Tema as part of preparations for the rollout of the government’s 24-hour economy programme.
The delegation, which included representatives from major downstream petroleum institutions, visited BOST Energies (APD), Quantum Terminals, and Sentuo Oil Refinery on November 17. The exercise forms part of the mandate of the 24-hour Economy Sub-Committee tasked with reviewing downstream operations and identifying the measures needed to ensure a seamless national transition to round-the-clock economic activity.
According to officials, similar assessments will be carried out across all fuel installations nationwide to build a comprehensive understanding of operational gaps, infrastructure needs, and safety requirements ahead of full implementation.
Dr. Bukari who also chairs the Infrastructure and Technology Sub-Committee for the petroleum downstream segment of the programme—said the tour was crucial in evaluating existing challenges and determining the type of government support required to help industry players adapt successfully to 24-hour operations.
He emphasised that insights from the field visits will guide policy actions and operational adjustments needed to optimise efficiency, enhance safety, and strengthen supply-chain readiness under the new economic framework.
