Ghana Hosts Seventh International Solar Alliance Africa Regional Meeting in Accra

Accra, Ghana – The Seventh Meeting of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Regional Committee for the Africa Region has taken place in Accra, bringing together representatives from more than 70 countries and institutions to discuss Africa’s solar energy future.

The conference, organized by ISA in collaboration with Ghana’s Ministry of Energy and Green Transition, focused on innovative and strategic approaches to harnessing solar technology for the continent’s development.

Chairing the session, Ghana emphasized its commitment to the renewable and green transition agenda, highlighting ongoing initiatives such as the deployment of solar systems for households, public institutions, and island communities, as well as the installation of solar-powered streetlights.

Delegates were urged to prioritize local content in their strategies and ensure effective technology transfer to strengthen Africa’s energy independence.

During the meeting, Ghana also signed a partnership framework agreement with ISA aimed at expanding solar energy adoption across the country.
