A delegation from the Korea Export-Import Bank (Korea Eximbank) has completed a two-day post-evaluation project visit to the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) to assess the impact of a Korea-funded power transmission project on Ghana’s electricity network.
The delegation, led by Mrs. Je Hea Song, held discussions with a cross-section of GRIDCo’s engineering staff. The meeting was led by GRIDCo’s Deputy Chief Executive for Engineering and Operations, Ing. Abdul Samed Ibrahim, and supported by the Director of the Southern Network Department, Ing. Francis Arthur.
As part of the visit, the delegation inspected the Korea-funded 330kV Prestea-Kumasi transmission line within the Kumasi Operational Area to evaluate its contribution to the country’s power transmission system.
Speaking during the engagement, Ing. Abdul Samed Ibrahim said the transmission line has played a significant role in strengthening the national grid and facilitating electricity exports to Burkina Faso.
The visit concluded with a tour of GRIDCo’s System Control Centre, where the delegation was briefed on the company’s power system operations and grid management activities.
