The Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors (CBOD) has engaged a visiting International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission in discussions on fuel affordability and the sustainability of Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector.
The engagement, held on Friday, October 30, 2026, formed part of the IMF’s first review of Ghana’s Policy Coordination Instrument (PCI).
The meeting brought together representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the IMF, the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) and CBOD to assess developments in the downstream petroleum industry and exchange perspectives on key sector challenges.
Discussions focused on issues affecting the sustainability of the petroleum downstream sector, with particular attention to the need for policies that support a resilient, efficient and sustainable industry.
The engagement also provided an avenue for industry stakeholders and policymakers to share insights on developments in the sector and contribute to ongoing policy discussions under Ghana’s IMF-supported programme.
CBOD reaffirmed its commitment to constructive stakeholder engagement and policy dialogue aimed at strengthening the downstream petroleum industry and promoting a sustainable petroleum market in Ghana
