Atuabo Gas Plant to Shut Down for Maintenance August 16–30

The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has given the green light for the Ghana National Gas Company Ltd. (Ghana Gas) to carry out a scheduled maintenance shutdown at the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant from August 16 to 30, 2025.

The two-week exercise will involve critical inspections, repairs, and system upgrades aimed at improving the plant’s efficiency and operational reliability. Officials say the move forms part of government’s commitment to maintaining the safety and sustainability of vital national energy infrastructure.

To prevent any disruption to electricity supply, the Ministry is collaborating with key players in the power sector to deploy alternative fuel sources throughout the maintenance period. This contingency plan is expected to keep the national grid stable and uninterrupted.

The Ministry has assured Ghanaians of its dedication to delivering reliable energy and promised to provide regular updates on the progress of the works.
