The Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC) and the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors (CBOD Ghana) have reaffirmed their commitment to closer collaboration following a follow-up engagement aimed at advancing the interests of Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector.
The meeting built on previous discussions between the two industry bodies and underscored the importance of transparency, mutual understanding, and sustained dialogue in addressing key sector challenges.
Both Chambers agreed that, as major stakeholders in the downstream petroleum industry, it is essential to keep each other informed on significant industry matters and policy positions that could impact the sector.
To promote greater coordination, COMAC and CBOD resolved to consult and engage each other before taking positions on major industry issues, particularly those with far-reaching implications for the petroleum value chain.

As part of efforts to institutionalize the partnership, the two Chambers agreed to hold quarterly or biannual engagements to review emerging industry developments, exchange perspectives, and identify opportunities for joint action.
Research, policy advocacy, and regulatory compliance were identified as priority areas for collaboration, with both organizations expressing a shared commitment to supporting the sustainable growth and development of Ghana’s downstream petroleum industry.
The engagement also provided a platform to discuss critical sector concerns, explore practical solutions, and agree on key actions and next steps to enhance industry performance and stakeholder cooperation.
