A high-level delegation from the Chinese investment consulting firm ONEGO paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC), Dr Toni Aubynn.
The purpose of the visit was to familiarise themselves with the investment opportunities in Ghana’s Petroleum Hub project and to identify potential areas of collaboration with the PHDC.
In a presentation to the delegation, Dr Toni Aubynn outlined the key and ancillary infrastructure of the project, positioning it as the most lucrative investment opportunity on the continent.
Dr Aubynn provided detailed explanations of the project’s phases, noting that each phase is independent of the others and can be developed in a scalable manner.
He observed that, upon completion, the Petroleum Hub project will comprise three refineries, five petrochemical plants, storage tanks, a port with jetties, and other critical infrastructure that will transform the Jomoro area into a modern city.
Dr Aubynn stated that Ghana aims to leverage its strategic geographic location, stable democracy, and competitive incentive packages to develop Africa’s first integrated petroleum and petrochemical hub.
A member of the delegation expressed gratitude to Dr Aubynn for granting them an audience and for explaining the scope and objectives of the Petroleum Hub project in detail.
She highlighted their firm’s experience and expertise in bringing together investors for large-scale projects in China and beyond, and noted that the hub project is highly appealing to them.
