Ghana’s state power distributor, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), has announced a planned maintenance exercise scheduled for Thursday, July 10, 2025. The initiative, targeting sections of the Volta and Greater Accra regions, is part of ongoing efforts to enhance grid reliability and improve service delivery.
In a public notice released on Saturday, July 5, ECG confirmed that the maintenance works will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the specified date.
In the Volta Region, Hodzo and nearby areas will be affected. A broader scope of communities in the Greater Accra Region will also experience temporary outages, including Airport Hills Estate, Palace Mall, Mayfair Estate, Sowutuom, Israel, Race Course, Glefe, Wiaboman, Achimota Market, Achimota Old Station, and their surroundings.
“This interruption is necessary to enable our technical teams to safely undertake critical maintenance on our transmission infrastructure,” ECG stated, while expressing regret for any inconvenience caused.
Customers are advised to take necessary precautions and to treat all electrical installations as live throughout the maintenance period.
ECG reaffirmed its commitment to delivering stable and improved electricity services through continued infrastructure upgrades. Any updates to the schedule will be communicated through ECG’s website (www.ecg.com.gh) and its official social media channels.
