Ghana Boosts Gas Supply Following Major ENI Infrastructure Upgrade

Ghana’s Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has announced a successful upgrade to ENI’s gas infrastructure, resulting in an increase in gas output from 245 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) to 270 MMscfd.

The Ministry hailed the development as a major step toward strengthening the country’s energy security and advancing its sustainable power agenda. The enhanced capacity is expected to improve electricity generation and support economic growth across key sectors.

In an official statement released on Monday, July 14, 2025, the Ministry commended ENI and its partners in the energy sector for their collaborative role in delivering the upgrade.

“This enhancement in gas supply is a significant step towards ensuring a reliable and sustainable energy supply for the nation. The increased capacity will support the power sector and contribute to the overall economic growth of Ghana,” the statement read.

The Ministry also expressed appreciation to the public for their patience and cooperation throughout the project’s implementation phase, noting that collective support remains vital to Ghana’s ongoing energy transition.

Ministry spokesperson and Head of Communication, Richmond Rockson, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to delivering consistent and improved power supply to citizens, stating that the administration remains focused on building a resilient and modern energy sector.
