The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Jinapor, has held talks with Denmark’s Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Jakos Linulf, on strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector.
The discussions focused on strategic areas of collaboration, particularly opportunities to draw on Denmark’s extensive expertise in renewable energy to support Ghana’s green transition agenda. Central to the engagement was the potential role of the Danish Energy Agency in providing technical support and policy guidance.
Ambassador Linulf reaffirmed Denmark’s commitment to supporting Ghana through knowledge sharing, capacity building, and technical assistance for energy sector professionals and policymakers.
Mr. Jinapor, on his part, underscored the Government of Ghana’s strong commitment—under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama—to increasing the share of renewable energy in the national energy mix. He also highlighted Ghana’s investor-friendly renewable energy policies, which are designed to attract private sector investment and accelerate the country’s transition to sustainable and clean energy.
