Ghana Oil Drilling Academy and Consultancy (GODAC) has been officially accredited by the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET), earning recognition as a Centre of Excellence in Technical and Vocational Education and Training.
The accreditation positions the East Legon–based institution as a certified provider of structured technical programmes, enabling students to complete full courses that qualify them for progression into Ghana’s Technical Universities.
With the new status, GODAC is expanding access to competency-based training in Safety Technology, offering modules at Basic, Intermediate and Advanced levels. Key courses include Hazard Identification, Incident Reporting, Emergency Evacuation, Confined Space Entry, Work Permit Policies, Safety Inspections and Safety Audits.
GODAC has also distinguished itself as the only institution in Ghana to have successfully delivered IWCF Well Control Courses for Supervisors—an internationally recognised certification in the oil and gas industry. The academy says the new accreditation broadens opportunities for both aspiring professionals and experienced industry players who lack formal international certification.
Industry stakeholders have welcomed the development, describing it as a significant boost to professional standards, particularly in safety training across Ghana’s extractive and energy sectors.
Beyond oil and gas, GODAC plans to extend specialised training to miners, drillers and other technical professionals.
