The Africa-China Centre for Policy and Advisory (ACCPA), in collaboration with the African Climate Foundation (ACF), has successfully hosted the Green Finance Workshop – Addis Ababa 2025, a landmark event focused on advancing strategies for financing Ethiopia’s green industrial transformation.
Held at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Addis Ababa, the workshop convened over 45 influential participants from across the public and private sectors, including representatives from financial institutions, government bodies, private enterprises, civil society, green start-ups, and international development partners.
Centered on the theme “Unlocking Sustainable Industrial Growth for Ethiopia,” the workshop addressed the pressing need for climate-smart investments and inclusive, sustainable industrial development across Africa.
Unlike conventional conferences, the event featured a highly interactive, hands-on approach designed to yield practical outcomes and foster collaboration.
In his opening address, ACCPA Executive Director Paul Frimpong highlighted the workshop’s role in catalyzing long-term impact:
“What we’re building here is more than dialogue it’s momentum,” said Frimpong. “Momentum toward a new kind of industrial development: one that is clean, inclusive, and resilient, powered by finance that understands both risk and responsibility.”
Participants praised the workshop for its depth, engagement, and relevance, with many expressing enthusiasm about building a lasting platform for collaboration on green finance policy, research, and implementation.
The Green Finance Workshop – Addis Ababa 2025 not only sparked vital conversations but also laid the foundation for future partnerships aimed at scaling green finance solutions in line with Ethiopia’s development agenda and Africa’s broader climate goals.
