The Board and Management of the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCO) on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the management of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) in Tema.
The visit was to officially congratulate TOR on the successful restoration of refinery operations following a prolonged shutdown, a development described as a significant milestone in the company’s history. The engagement also provided an opportunity for both institutions to explore areas of collaboration in support of the Government’s reset agenda, particularly efforts aimed at strengthening the performance of strategic state-owned enterprises
The GRIDCO delegation was led by its Board Chairperson, Mrs. Kuukua Maurice Ankara, Esq., and included members of the Board, the Chief Executive Officer, and other senior management officials.
They were received by the Managing Director of TOR, alongside the Deputy Managing Director and other members of the refinery’s management team.
The resumption of operations at TOR underscores the refinery’s renewed readiness to play a critical role in Ghana’s downstream petroleum industry, with the potential to enhance energy security and deliver increased value to the Ghanaian economy
