NEDCo Recoups GH₵14 Million in Sunyani Revenue Recovery Drive

The Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) has retrieved GH₵14 million from defaulting customers in the Sunyani Area during a two-week revenue mobilisation and loss control operation.

Eugene Odoi Addo, NEDCo’s Sunyani Area Manager, confirmed the development on Saturday, July 27, stating that the exercise was launched to recover a targeted GH₵20 million in unpaid electricity bills.

Describing the operation as a major step forward, Mr. Addo said the team made substantial recoveries from both residential and commercial customers. The exercise, he noted, aligns with NEDCo’s ongoing efforts to stabilise its finances and reduce technical and commercial losses across its operational zones.

He cautioned that customers who continue to default on payments will face stricter enforcement measures in future campaigns.

“To guarantee reliable electricity supply, customers must commit to settling their bills promptly,” Mr. Addo stressed, urging the public to support NEDCo’s efforts by staying up-to-date on payments.

He further disclosed that a follow-up revenue mobilisation campaign is being planned for later this year as part of a sustained strategy to enhance operational performance and customer accountability.
