NOVA Fuel Launches 18th Filling Station in Walewale, Targets Leadership in Oil Marketing Sector

Ghanaian oil marketing firm NOVA Fuel has inaugurated its 18th fuel filling station in Walewale, located in the North East Region, reinforcing its aggressive nationwide growth strategy aimed at becoming the leading Oil Marketing Company (OMC) in Ghana within the next five years.

The newly commissioned station is part of NOVA Fuel’s broader vision to ensure access to reliable, affordable, and cleaner energy solutions across the country. Speaking at the launch, the company’s Managing Director, Kwasi Zigah, emphasized NOVA’s commitment to reaching underserved communities.

“Community by community, NOVA Fuel is expanding across Ghana. Our goal is to be the number one OMC in the country within the next five years,” he affirmed.

Operating under the trade name of Westol Petroleum Limited, NOVA Fuel already has a presence in key urban and rural areas including Accra, Ashaiman, Nsawam, Takoradi, Ayanfuri, and Weta. Its growing footprint reflects a deliberate strategy to increase access to high-quality fuel services.

Mr. Zigah assured residents of Walewale of consistent fuel supply at competitive prices. He noted that NOVA’s dedicated fleet of tankers ensures clean and dependable deliveries directly from major fuel depots nationwide.

“Our customers can expect top-tier fuel at what we consider wholesale prices. It’s part of our value proposition to ensure reliability and affordability,” he said.

In line with the government’s energy transition agenda, NOVA Fuel is also integrating Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) services at its stations. The Walewale facility offers a cylinder exchange program where residents can replace old cylinders with new, pre-filled ones, paying only for the gas.

“We are committed to supporting clean cooking initiatives that benefit both the environment and public health,” Mr. Zigah added.

Deputy Minister for Energy, Richard Gyan-Mensah, who graced the ceremony, commended NOVA Fuel for setting a strong example in the adoption of cleaner energy solutions. He urged other OMCs to follow NOVA’s lead in supporting Ghana’s sustainable energy goals.

Also present were the Municipal Chief Executive of West Mamprusi, Mohammed Rabiu Jabaah, and the Chief of Walewale, Naa Mahami Abudu, both of whom lauded NOVA Fuel for its investment in local development and job creation.

The new station offers a full suite of fuel, LPG, and essential energy services, further cementing NOVA Fuel’s role as a key player in Ghana’s evolving energy landscape.
