The Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC), Dr. Toni Aubynn, has underscored the transformative economic potential of Ghana’s proposed Petroleum Hub, describing it as a major catalyst for growth and job creation.
Speaking on Thursday, November 26, 2025, at the 54th Annual Conference of the Ghana Institute of Planners in Tamale, Dr. Aubynn delivered a presentation themed “The Role of Economic Hubs in Stimulating Growth and Driving New Employment Pathways: Insights from Ghana’s Petroleum Hub Project.”
He explained that once fully developed, the Petroleum Hub is expected to generate significant multiplier effects across multiple sectors of the economy. According to him, the project would not only stimulate industrial expansion but also open new employment pathways and strengthen Ghana’s position in the regional energy market.
Dr. Aubynn encouraged development planners nationwide to actively support and promote the Petroleum Hub agenda, stressing that their involvement is crucial to realising the project’s full economic benefits.
