Puma Energy, Hass Petroleum Partner to Distribute Lubricants in DRC

Puma Energy, a leading downstream energy company, has entered into a lubricant distribution partnership with Hass Petroleum Group to expand its footprint into the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The agreement, signed at the Investing in African Mining Indaba conference in Cape Town, marks the first time Puma Energy’s lubricant brand will be introduced into the DRC market.

Under the partnership, Hass Group will distribute and market Puma Energy’s range of high-performance lubricants, targeting key sectors such as mining and industrial operations in one of Africa’s strategic growth markets.

Ben Ouattara, Head of Africa at Puma Energy, described the collaboration as a significant step in the company’s continental expansion drive.

“This partnership represents an important milestone in the growth of our lubricants business across Africa, increasing our distribution network to 11 markets. By leveraging an export model and working with a strong regional player like Hass Petroleum, we can efficiently extend the Puma Energy brand and deliver high-quality products into emerging growth markets such as the DRC,” he said.

Solomon Osundwa, Regional Managing Director of Hass Group, expressed confidence in the partnership, noting that it aligns with the company’s broader regional expansion strategy.

“We are pleased to partner with Puma to supply premium lubricants to customers in the DRC. Our deep regional expertise, combined with Puma’s product quality, makes this one of our most significant partnerships this year. As part of our growth strategy, we are also exploring entry into Mozambique and Angola,” he stated.

The partnership underscores both companies’ commitment to strengthening energy and industrial supply chains across Africa.
