The Volta River Authority (VRA) has officially resumed public visits to its power generating stations, opening its doors once again to students, professionals, stakeholders, and the general public.
According to the Authority, the initiative forms part of its broader efforts to promote transparency, enhance public engagement, and deepen education on its operations and contribution to Ghana’s energy sector.
To ensure safety and efficiency, the VRA has developed and approved a new generation facility visit policy to guide the process. All visits will be carefully coordinated to safeguard visitors, staff, and the operational integrity of the installations, while also ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
As part of the policy, interested groups are required to submit a formal request in the form of a letter addressed to the Chief Executive for approval. The request must be sent at least ten working days ahead of the proposed visit to allow adequate time for preparations.
The VRA believes the resumption of tours will provide an important opportunity for learning and interaction, while strengthening public understanding of Ghana’s energy landscape.
