Russian President Vladimir Putin has addressed a forum at the Atom Museum at VDNH as part of the World Atomic Week, being marked in Moscow.
The meeting was also attended by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Myanmar’s Acting President Min Aung Hlaing, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, Iranian Vice President Mohammad Eslami, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi, as well as heads of relevant ministries of major partner countries and international organizations. The meeting which was moderated by the Director General of Rosatom State Corporation Alexey Likhachev highlighted Rosatom’s activities in the field of small-scale nuclear energy and the development of closed-cycle nuclear systems.
Addressing the participants President Putin touted Nuclear Power Plants designed buy Russians and stressed that such power are the most sought-after plants in the world.
“We unconditionally support the desire for the development and peaceful use of atomic energy for these purposes. It is with pride that we can say that today, only Russia possesses expertise across the entire nuclear energy technology chain, and thanks to their safety and resistance to external influences, nuclear power plants built to Russian designs are the most sought-after in the world.”
