World Bank, Energy Ministry Deepen Collaboration on Ghana’s Power Reforms

The Minister of Energy and Green Transition, Hon. John Jinapor, on Monday 10th November received a delegation from the World Bank, led by Dr. Robert Taliercio, at his office in Accra to discuss ongoing reforms and future collaboration in Ghana’s energy sector.


The meeting focused on strengthening partnership efforts aimed at improving efficiency, reducing system losses, and ensuring affordable and reliable power supply across the country.
Hon. Jinapor outlined three top priorities for the Ministry cutting system losses, boosting operational performance, and securing affordable electricity for all Ghanaians. He further noted that the Ministry is actively pursuing strategies to attract additional generation capacity at lower costs.


Our objective as a government is to secure the most cost-effective new power sources to strengthen the sector and deliver lasting benefits to the country,” he said.
On its part, the World Bank reaffirmed its role as a strategic partner to Ghana’s energy transition agenda and pledged continued technical and financial support to help the Ministry achieve its objectives.
