GNPC Reaffirms Commitment to Innovation and Local Capacity in Petroleum Sector

The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Kwame Ntow Amoah, has underscored the Corporation’s leadership in advancing innovation, research, and local competence within Ghana’s petroleum industry.
Delivering remarks at the opening of the 2025 Local Content Conference and Exhibition (LCCE) in Takoradi, Mr. Amoah called for stronger collaboration among policymakers, investors, and industry players to revitalise Ghana’s exploration and production landscape through technology and homegrown expertise.
He highlighted GNPC’s ongoing initiatives, including the Voltaian Basin Project and the establishment of the GNPC Research and Technology Centre, as key pillars in building a resilient and competitive upstream sector

“Local content must evolve beyond sheer percentages to become a catalyst for competitiveness, sustainability, and growth,” Mr. Amoah stated.

The conference, which brings together stakeholders from across the oil and gas value chain, forms part of GNPC’s 40th anniversary celebrations under the theme of driving innovation and empowering local talent in Ghana’s energy future.
