Energy and Green Transition Minister Tours GNPC, Reaffirms Support for Sector Growth

The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has paid a working visit to the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) as part of his ongoing familiarisation tour of agencies under the ministry.

During the visit, the Minister met with the Executive Committee and later addressed staff, where he reiterated government’s commitment to strengthening GNPC’s mandate. He urged enhanced collaboration across the sector to increase oil and gas production, safeguard national energy security, and drive progress toward Ghana’s energy transition objectives.

Mr. Jinapor commended GNPC’s technical expertise and noted the crucial role the Corporation plays in meeting the country’s rising energy demand. He also highlighted ongoing national efforts to promote electric vehicle (EV) adoption as part of broader clean energy initiatives.

The visit underscored GNPC’s strategic importance in shaping a resilient and sustainable energy future for Ghana.
