Energy Minister Inaugurates Board of Prestea Sankofa Gold Limited

The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has inaugurated the new Board of Prestea Sankofa Gold Limited (PSGL), a subsidiary of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama asked
PSGL plays a strategic role in the mining value chain by recovering gold from old tailings and waste ore, a mandate that not only boosts value addition in the sector but also supports job creation in host communities.

Addressing the newly constituted Board, Mr. Jinapor urged members to demonstrate professionalism, transparency, and a renewed sense of urgency in steering the company toward full operational recovery. He noted that PSGL’s core mission remains clear and its potential significant, emphasising that effective leadership could restore the company as a major contributor to Ghana’s natural resources sector.

The Board is chaired by Hon. Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, with other members including Kwame Ntow Amoah, Hajia Amina Adam, and Alhaji Ishaq Dauda.
The Minister expressed confidence that their combined expertise will drive PSGL toward improved efficiency, operational revival, and sustainable profitability.
