ACEP Hosts Judith Neilson Foundation Delegation to Strengthen Energy Policy Collaboration

The Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP) has hosted a delegation from the Judith Neilson Foundation as part of the foundation’s learning visit to better understand how African institutions are driving development across the continent.

The delegation, led by Chief Executive Officer Simon Freeman and accompanied by Titus Gwemende, paid a courtesy call on the Accra-based policy think tank to explore opportunities for shared learning and collaboration.

Discussions during the visit focused on the critical role of energy in Africa’s economic transformation. Officials of ACEP outlined how the organisation advances inclusive and sustainable energy outcomes through evidence-based research, policy dialogue and strategic stakeholder engagement.

Executive Director of ACEP, Benjamin Boakye, highlighted the Centre’s expanding regional footprint, noting its partnerships and work across Nigeria, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Angola and Mozambique. He emphasised that ACEP’s interventions are primarily centred on positioning Africa strategically within the global energy transition while ensuring that the shift delivers tangible development outcomes for citizens.

ACEP reaffirmed its commitment to fostering engagements that promote shared learning and strengthen collaboration towards a future where Africa’s natural resources effectively contribute to the well-being of its people.
