Jinapor Meets UCC Leadership on Reliable and Sustainable Energy Supply

The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor, has held discussions with the leadership of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Denis Worlanyo Aheto, on sustainable and reliable energy solutions to support the university’s operations.

The meeting focused on practical and cost-effective power interventions to enhance electricity supply for residential facilities and other critical infrastructure within the institution.

Dr. Jinapor reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to advancing Ghana’s green transition agenda through the deployment of renewable energy solutions across critical public installations, including tertiary institutions. He noted that conventional power sources would continue to serve as reliable backup systems to guarantee uninterrupted electricity supply.

He emphasised that expanding clean energy access in educational institutions would help create a conducive environment for teaching, learning, research, and innovation, while contributing to Ghana’s broader sustainable development and energy transition objectives.
