Tema Oil Refinery Nears October Restart, MD Confirms

The Managing Director of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), Edmund Kombat, has reaffirmed the company’s readiness to resume operations in October, describing the development as a historic milestone for Ghana’s downstream petroleum industry.

According to Mr. Kombat, work on the refinery’s revival is 98 percent complete, with management and staff working diligently to meet the rescheduled timelines.

This milestone reflects our resilience and determination to restore TOR to its rightful place,” he stated, adding that the refinery’s return would not only benefit Ghana but also resonate across Africa and the global energy sector.

TOR, which has faced years of operational setbacks, is now positioning itself for a major comeback. The management has assured the public that every effort is being made to ensure a successful restart.
