COMAC Mobilises Oil Marketing Companies to Support National Sanitation Drive

The Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC) is rallying support from its member companies to complement the government’s efforts to improve environmental sanitation across Ghana.

The initiative follows an engagement between the Chamber and the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Mahama Ayariga, who called on COMAC to mobilise industry support for the evacuation and transportation of accumulated waste from designated locations.

In response, COMAC has extended the appeal to its membership, encouraging voluntary contributions towards the sanitation exercise.

The Chamber says the initiative reflects the importance of environmental sanitation to public health and national development, while highlighting the role of partnerships between government and the private sector in addressing sanitation challenges.

COMAC has also acknowledged the contributions of participating member companies, commending their commitment to corporate social responsibility and efforts to promote cleaner, safer and healthier communities.

The initiative forms part of broader efforts to improve sanitation conditions across the country, with the Chamber urging collective responsibility and sustained action to achieve a cleaner Ghana.
