TOR Managing Director Named LEAD Fellow

The Managing Director of Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) Ltd., Mr. Edmond Kombat Esq., has been competitively selected as one of the 2025 LEAD Fellows—an esteemed initiative of the Africa CEO Forum dedicated to harnessing leadership experience and shaping Africa’s next generation of transformative public leaders.

Also joining this year’s cohort are Mr. Sharif Mahmud Khalid, Economic and Policy Advisor to the Office of the Vice President, and Mrs. Matilda Asante, Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana.
Mr. Kombat’s selection highlights his growing reputation as a forward-looking leader committed to advancing Ghana’s energy sector and supporting the continent’s broader agenda for sustainable economic transformation.
Reflecting on the fellowship, Mr. Kombat commended the impactful contributions of distinguished speakers, including H.E. Nadia Fettah Alaoui, Minister of Economy and Finance of Morocco; Dr. Carlos Lopes of The Nelson Mandela School of Public Governance; Dr. Donald Kaberuka of SouthBridge Investments; Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede of Access Holdings & Coronation Group; Mostafa Terrab, Chairman and CEO of OCP Group; Sara Abdel-Karim of Tandem Health; and Axelle Bagot of Leadership Lab International – Consulting. He noted that their insights helped shape discussions on Africa’s present and future leadership, anchored in ambition, shared responsibility, and a renewed vision for public service.
Speaking on the fellowship’s broader significance, Mr. Kombat emphasized that Africa’s solutions lie within the continent itself, not beyond its borders. He further highlighted that the conversations resonated strongly with former President John Dramani Mahama’s “Reset Agenda” for Ghana—an approach he described as a model worth emulating across Africa
