The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) has applauded GOIL PLC for its consistent supply of high-quality fuels, excellent customer service, and long-standing partnership that has supported Ghana’s transport sector for over six decades.
The commendation was made during a courtesy visit by a GOIL delegation to the GPRTU headquarters at the Trades Union Congress (TUC) in Accra.
Leading the GOIL team was the Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Marcus Deo Dake, accompanied by the Head of Fuels Marketing, Emmanuel Agyiri; Head of Technical and Special Products Marketing (TSPM), Ing. Joshua Duodu; Head of Corporate Affairs, Robert Kyere; and Public Relations Manager, Desmond Asati.
In his remarks, the National Chairman of the GPRTU, Nana Nimako Bresiamah, commended GOIL for maintaining the highest standards in fuel quality and service delivery, describing GOIL’s products as reliable and superior.
He urged the company to sustain its high standards and consider expanding its network to underserved areas, including Agona in the Ashanti Region. “The relationship between GPRTU and GOIL is one of mutual benefit, built on trust and shared national interest,” he said.
Welcoming the GOIL delegation earlier, Alhaji Abass Moro, Head of Communications at GPRTU, expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed the union’s commitment to continued collaboration.
Responding, Dr. Dake conveyed greetings from GOIL’s Group CEO and Managing Director, Mr. Edward Abambire Bawa, and expressed gratitude for the GPRTU’s loyalty and long-term partnership.
“For more than 60 years, GOIL has worked hand-in-hand with GPRTU and its members. GOIL cannot thrive without you,” he said, noting that GOIL’s mission extends beyond profit to national service.
“We operate in every corner of Ghana because we are a national asset with a duty to connect Ghanaians everywhere,” Dr. Dake stated. He added that GOIL’s additivated fuels offer longer mileage, superior engine protection, and better performance — a combination the company brands as Good Energy.
Highlighting GOIL’s ownership structure, Dr. Dake emphasized that the company is largely Ghanaian-owned. “When you buy from GOIL, you are not enriching an individual — you are building Ghana. Every purchase is a direct investment in the nation’s growth,” he said.
He described the meeting as “the beginning of better days ahead,” pledging GOIL’s continued collaboration with the GPRTU and other national stakeholders to power Ghana’s growth and connect communities.
The Head of Fuels Marketing, Emmanuel Agyiri, said GOIL remains committed to expanding its retail network, while Ing. Duodu of TSPM added that GOIL lubricants meet international standards and are endorsed by top Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
Also present at the meeting were GPRTU executives including Emmanuel Nii Ankrah, National Vice Chairman; Jacob Odae, First National Trustee; Sly Tetteh, Greater Accra Regional Vice President; and Robert Darko, Industrial Relations Officer. The Executive Director of the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC), Duncan Amoah, also attended the event.
