The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) has successfully co-hosted the 4th Biennial International Conference on Hydrocarbon Science & Technology (ICHST 2025) at the PTDF Towers in Abuja, bringing together key players across Africa’s energy sector to discuss the future of hydrocarbon development on the continent.
Held under the theme “Transforming Africa’s Hydrocarbon Sector: Balancing Growth, Environment & Governance,” the conference provided a platform for strategic dialogue, knowledge exchange, and innovation aimed at building a more resilient and environmentally responsible energy industry.
Representing the PTDF Executive Secretary Mr. Ahmed Galadima Aminu, the GM of Research & Innovation, Mr. Olayinka Agboola, reiterated the Fund’s commitment to supporting research, technology development, and capacity building through strong partnerships — including ongoing collaboration with the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI).
Delivering remarks on behalf of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Permanent Secretary Dr. Emeka Vitalis Obi emphasized the need for continuous collaboration among government, academic institutions, and private sector players to ensure Nigeria’s hydrocarbon industry remains competitive and aligned with national growth objectives.
The event also featured an innovation exhibition showcasing cutting-edge technologies and research findings from leading industry stakeholders and academic institutions.
The conference concluded with a renewed commitment to advancing sustainable energy development and driving Africa’s transition toward a smarter, cleaner hydrocarbon future
