GOIL PLC has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Ghana’s national security architecture following a high-level engagement between the company’s leadership, led by the Group CEO and MD, Mr Edward Abambire Bawa, and the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General William Agyapong. The visit held at the General Headquarters of the Ghana Armed Forces, formed part of efforts to strengthen the long-standing partnership between the two institutions. The CDS warmly welcomed the GOIL delegation and expressed appreciation for the visit. Mr Bawa explained that the visit was to congratulate the CDS and the leadership of the Ghana Armed Forces for their critical role in safeguarding the sovereignty and security of Ghana. He reaffirmed GOIL’s position as the primary fuel supplier to the GAF, including the supply of aviation fuel for the air fleet and bunkering services for naval vessels. He emphasized the need to deepen the strategic partnership between the two institutions. Responding, Lieutenant General William Agyapong thanked the GOIL team for the visit and commended the company for its unwavering support to the Armed Forces over the years. He particularly acknowledged GOIL’s commitment to ensuring a consistent fuel supply to the GAF, even during periods of high indebtedness. He noted that such moments reveal true partnerships and described GOIL as a national energy company that understands the role of the Armed Forces within the state and places national interest above purely commercial considerations. The CDS also commended the Group CEO & MD for his leadership and expressed confidence in his vision to position GOIL for greater national impact.
