NPA Assesses Tema Oil Jetty Readiness for 24-Hour Operations

The delegation, led by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe, visited to assess and confirm the readiness of the Tema Oil Jetty for 24-hour service.

The engagement follows an earlier inspection conducted last year, during which certain operational and safety gaps were identified at the oil berth that required attention to facilitate the safe berthing and discharge of petroleum vessels at night.

As part of the visit, the Director of Port, Tema, took the delegation on a tour of the berth to inspect the progress of works done. Mr Tamakloe expressed satisfaction with the progress made and urged the timely completion of the outstanding works to fully position the oil jetty for round-the-clock operations, in line with Government’s 24-hour economy policy.

The delegation, led by the NPA’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe, undertook the visit to verify progress made toward enabling round-the-clock service at the facility.

The engagement follows an earlier inspection conducted last year, during which operational and safety gaps were identified at the oil berth. The issues were flagged as critical to ensuring the safe berthing and discharge of petroleum vessels, particularly during nighttime operations.

As part of the visit, Mr. Zumah led the team on a tour of the berth to inspect ongoing works and improvements undertaken to address the concerns raised.

Mr. Tamakloe expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved so far and urged the timely completion of the remaining works to fully operationalise the oil jetty for 24-hour service. He noted that the move aligns with government’s 24-hour economy policy aimed at boosting efficiency and productivity across key sectors.
