Energy and Green Transition Minister, Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor, has highlighted Ghana’s ongoing energy sector reforms and industrialisation agenda during a high-level Town Hall discussion at the Africa Energy Forum (AEF).
The discussion, which brought together energy ministers from across Africa, was held under the theme, “Regional Production Hubs to Drive Industrialisation.”
Addressing participants, Dr. Jinapor outlined key reforms being implemented by the government to position Ghana as a competitive hub for industrial production and regional trade.
According to the Minister, the reforms are already delivering tangible results, including significant improvements in payments to utility service providers. He noted that the development is helping to strengthen the financial sustainability of the energy sector while boosting investor confidence.
Dr. Jinapor further indicated that ongoing investments in power generation, transmission infrastructure, and renewable energy projects are enhancing the reliability of electricity supply and laying a solid foundation for industrial expansion.
He emphasized that, in line with the vision of President John Dramani Mahama’s Accra Reset Agenda, Ghana is deliberately transitioning from the export of raw materials to a value-addition and local-processing economy.
The Minister noted that the strategic shift is creating new opportunities for industrial growth, employment generation, and increased participation in regional and global value chains, reinforcing Ghana’s position as a leading destination for investment and manufacturing in Africa.
